Purpose:

The purpose of my running for the position of the Platte County Assessor is to establish fairness and equality amongst all the Platte County taxpayers. It is the Assessor’s responsibility to distribute the tax burden equally and fairly.

As a fiscal conservative, I believe in fiscal policies, including lower taxes, reduced government spending, and balanced budgets.  No unnecessary spending.

LOWEST ASSESSMENTS ALLOWABLE

I will provide the lowest assessments allowable...PERIOD!!!

BE IN THE OFFICE FULL TIME

I have recognized that taxpayers want to receive the fullest attention and dedication necessary to ensure that the valuation process is done properly.  My standpoint is that this is not a part-time position and should not be treated as one, unlike office holders today who treat their county position as part-time work with full-time pay.  Other elected officials have a full-time primary job making their elected responsibility a secondary priority.  I will dedicate myself full time in the office and wherever else necessary to earn the trust of the public.

FULLY SUPPORT SENIOR TAX RELIEF

I cannot express enough that I fully support senior tax relief. Due to the rise in real estate values, seniors are experiencing housing insecurity. There are a growing number of households on low and fixed incomes who are struggling to afford their homes. This is why it is important for me to provide allowable assistance where needed.  However, we are at the discretion of the Commissioners.  The Commissioners need to communicate to all, the actual impact SB-190 will have on the Senior Tax Freeze.  Do not be mislead!  They are not telling you how much this will actually be saving our Seniors!

NO CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

I will lead with integrity and honesty and will ensure that the Assessor’s office is professional and respectful of the taxpayers. I will not be constrained by conflicts of interests.  Valuations will be objective and unbiased.  I will not discriminate against others for my own self advancement or put myself first for my own personal agenda!

I recognize that Platte County is one of the fastest growing counties in Missouri. I will lead with Integrity and Honesty. And due to my passion for the business, I will do everything within my powers to be a great steward for Platte County.
